[New York, NY – September 22, 2023] NYC’s soul-pop singer-songwriter Kamila Kay shares her new single and music video “me + somebody” out today.

Listen to “me + somebody” HERE.

Kamila’s latest song is an exploration of the emptiness, yearning, and disillusionment that sometimes comes with half-hearted romance. When speaking about the song, Kamila says, “I was inspired to write it after experiencing a temporary connection with someone that I knew would never lead to anything meaningful. Hopefully someday I’ll be a little less jaded when it comes to the potential for love.”

The track was produced by Lucas Saur (Melt, Cherin) and the video was directed by Kaylin Smida. Alongside choreographer Yvonne McCauley and co-star Paul Michael Gamble, this musical and visual pairing emulates the particular vacancy of feeling to which Kamila hopes people can relate.

About Kamila Kay

Florida-born old soul, Kamila Kay is a singer-songwriter who writes lyrics that help her to calm her somersaulting mind and gauge some truth. She grew up listening to others do so in song, and cites artists like Sara Bareilles, Laura Izibor, Amy Winehouse, and Victoria Hart as some of her earliest influences. Though classical piano and musical theater were her first loves, these days she sings the wordy, painfully honest songs she writes, and accompanies herself on the keys. Her music is pop with a throwback feel, and she takes inspiration from funk, soul, and indie rock. She is based in New York City, and finds meaning in connecting with others through music. She hopes to make listeners feel seen, hopeful, and less isolated in their own thoughts and experiences.
